My Parents Planned To Take My House So I Secretly Sold It While They Were In Italy

I was on a work call in a coffee shop when I accidentally heard my father forget to hang up. He and my mother were talking about taking my house and changing the locks on my office. They laughed like I was a problem they were about to solve.

For years, they had lived in my aunt’s house without paying anything. They treated my home like it already belonged to them. They used my money, my accounts, and even destroyed my aunt’s rose garden. My father replaced it with a putting green using my credit card. That same day, he interrupted my Zoom meeting and ruined my biggest client deal.
The client dropped me hours later, and something inside me finally broke. I saved the recording of their conversation without telling them. Then I gathered every document proving the house belonged only to me.
My lawyer told me to stop treating it like a family issue. So I made a plan that looked like forgiveness on the surface. I booked them a luxury trip to Italy and acted like nothing had changed. The night before they left, I smiled and helped them pack.
