The Woman Who Lost Everything In Court Found Her Mother’s Final Secret Behind A Wall

My mother’s letter explained everything in her steady, careful hand. The country place I had inherited, the one Gregory mocked as “your mother’s falling-down shack,” was not worthless at all. The royalties had been accumulating in a separate account for over a decade, an account she had set up in my name alone, untouchable by anyone else, waiting.
