A woman, already irritated that her husband was late coming home again, decided she had reached her limit. She wrote a note that read, “I’ve had enough and have left you. Don’t bother coming after me.” Then, instead of actually leaving, she slipped under the bed so she could watch his reaction when he finally walked through the door.
After a short while the husband arrived. She heard him moving around in the kitchen before he entered the bedroom. From her hiding place she watched him walk to the dresser, pick up the note, and stand there reading it. A few minutes later he wrote something on the paper, picked up the phone, and dialed a number.
“She’s finally gone… yeah I know, about bloody time,” he said. “I’m coming to see you. Put on that sexy French nightie. I love you… can’t wait to see you… we’ll do all the naughty things you like.” He hung up, grabbed his keys, and left. The sound of the car pulling away filled the house.
Seething with rage and with tears in her eyes, the wife crawled out from under the bed and snatched the note to see what he had written. The message was short and completely unexpected: “I can see your feet. We’re outta bread: be back in five minutes.”
