Then she told me. Nathaniel had arrived at the venue, scanned the front row where I should have been sitting, and found my chair empty. He had asked Kendra where his mother was, and she had given him the same lie she gave everyone. That I was unwell.
But my son knew me. He knew I would never miss his wedding over a headache. So he did something Kendra never expected.
