My sister stopped me at the church doors fifteen minutes before her wedding and told me I could watch the ceremony but was not welcome at the reception. Six years later the company employed four hundred people, operated six silver jets, and was valued above seventy million dollars. I had kept that success private because I wanted my family to value me without knowing what I owned. That morning I left the church for the hangar, approved a major acquisition, and finally stopped waiting for their approval.
