Fifteen years after my wife Lisa walked out to buy diapers and never returned, I had finally stopped expecting miracles. I raised our son Noah alone, buried my questions beneath endless work, and tried to give him the childhood he deserved. Then, during an ordinary trip to the supermarket, I saw the impossible. Lisa stood in the frozen food aisle, laughing as though she had never disappeared. She looked older, but her eyes were the same. When she turned and recognized me, the color drained from her face before she forced a calm smile.

I stepped toward her with trembling hands, unable to believe what I was seeing. Before I could ask where she had been all these years, she quietly whispered, “Please… don’t make a scene. You have no idea what really happened.” Then a teenage girl appeared beside her, called her “Mom,” and a tall man rushed toward them, glaring directly at me.
