My name, printed in bold at the top, listed as sole owner of Ashford Home Solutions. For eight years he had called me the toolbox son-in-law, bragged about overtime he stole from the very business I built, and raised his glass to make me the punchline at his own table, never once knowing that every dollar he spent flowed from the man he humiliated. Someone whispered my name like a question. Gerald looked up, searching for me, but I was not there. I did not need to watch. I had already given them the only sentence that mattered, three nights earlier, at the head of his own table.
