Chaz Bono married Shara Blue Mathes on March 8, 2026, in an elegant ceremony at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. The son of Cher was 57. The celebration followed a Hollywood Glam Formal theme, with glowing red candles, deep purple floral arrangements, and sophisticated attire. Chaz wore a classic black tuxedo. Shara wore a long-sleeved lace gown with loose curls and carried a dramatic bouquet of purple flowers. Photographs from the day appeared online on March 15, and the conversation around them shifted quickly.

Their story goes back more than forty years. They first met as teenagers at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute. Their lives later took separate paths, but the connection held. They reconnected years later and officially began their relationship in 2017. Chaz has described the significance of marrying the first girl he ever kissed, and of having his best friend and greatest love beside him. Cher was present for the milestone, which made the day especially meaningful for the family.

When the wedding pictures circulated, some social media users remarked that Shara reminded them of Cher. Comments noted similarities in appearance, and a few expressed surprise at the resemblance. The comparisons sparked discussion, though not everyone agreed. Other fans pushed back, arguing that the attention should stay on the couple’s happiness rather than physical appearance. Many simply offered congratulations and praised the photographs. Cher has previously spoken warmly about her son, expressing admiration for his courage in sharing his personal journey and emphasizing that his happiness mattered most to her. Her presence at the ceremony reflected that support.

For Chaz and Shara, the wedding marked a new chapter after decades of knowing one another and nearly nine years as an official couple. The celebration brought together family, memory, and a full-circle romance that feels almost cinematic. There were no reported financial or legal disputes connected to the wedding, and details about insurance, a mortgage, an investment, an estate, or court proceedings were not part of the story. The lasting note was simpler. Two people who met as teenagers found their way back to each other, and the most meaningful part of the day was the chance to begin married life together.
