Two hundred guests turned, slowly, to look at the man in worn boots and a rain-soaked jacket seated beside the catering entrance, the man they had been served leftovers to avoid. Nathan set down his napkin, stood, and finally spoke, calm as ever. “Actually,” he said, “before we discuss any of that, I think my wife’s family has something they’d like to explain.”<\/p>\n
